From my very first encounter with her on the pages of Jane Austen’s ‘darling child’, I became utterly enchanted with the book’s protagonist, Miss Elizabeth Bennet – brave, witty, independent and in happy possession of the world’s most celebrated pair of  ‘fine eyes’.

Ever since, I have spent many an hour searching for that long-gone genteel world and trying to catch at least a tiny glimpse of Elizabeth’s shadow by following in her footsteps along England’s ‘greenest hills’, leafy parks of grand stately homes and fragrant gardens of old country cottages. I travelled from Jane Austen’s Chawton to Mr Darcy’s Pemberley, from Lady Catherine’s Rosings to Mr Collins’ Hunsford Parsonage, but Elizabeth was always just out of sight, even though I could feel her recent presence in every room, at every turn of the way. That, however, wasn’t enough for me, I wanted to make her world real, if only just for myself. That how my Facebook pages dedicated to Lizzy’s life after her marriage to Mr Darcy came to be. The first was called ‘Elizabeth Bennet Darcy’, it is now postponed with 28, 000 followers, the new one, ‘Elizabeth Darcy’, has been going since December 2017, and can be found here: https://www.facebook.com/ElizabethBennetDarcyOfPemberley/

Trying to bring that world to life, I’ve written a book ‘Mr Darcy’s Guide to Pemberley’ and working on the next one…

This blog is a combination of all things ‘Elizabeth’ – from her new adventures 200 years ago, to places I visit, looking for her and information I find about her and her wonderful creator – the one and only – our beloved Miss Jane Austen.
